Here are five suggestions:

1. Institution's Academic Reputation
Consider the academic reputation of the institution to which you may be applying.  Tarleton State University is a member of the Texas A&M University System since 1917 and has been educating Texans since 1899.  Tarleton State University E-Campus offers bachelor's degree completion programs and master's degrees online.  We are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).  Our College of Business Administration has achieved ACBSP accreditation.  As an online student, you will have access to the same faculty teaching our face-to-face courses.

2. Does the institution provide credit for work experience or training?
Our Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) degrees provide credit for both work experience and training.  Our Bachelor of Science in Applied Science (BSAS) degree in Business provides credit for work related training.  Our Bachelor of Applied Technology in Health Professions Technology provides credit for health-care training toward an Associate of Applied Sciences degree.  We also offer more traditional bachelor's degree completion programs and master's degree programs in a variety of fields.

3. Cost
Don't spend too much on an online degree.  Some online degrees can be very expensive.  As a public institution, our tuition and fees are competitive.

4. Credit transfer
Core academic courses taken at a Texas Community College that meet our general admissions requirements will transfer to Tarleton State University.  As students in degree completion programs, you will need to take general education courses at a Texas Community College or University.  The courses may be applied to a degree plan after your official transcript is received.

5. Variety of Academic Programs
Some institutions only offer a few online degree programs.  Some may not offer a program that interests you. Tarleton State University E-Campus offers nine online bachelor's degree completion programs and nine online master's degree programs.
