What are you waiting for?

Are you aspiring for a promotion within your company?
Have you been considering owning your own business?
Is now the time to make that a change?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, then it is time for you to toss your fears aside and pursue your dream. If education stands between you and your dreams, Tarleton State E-Campus would like to help you with that by giving you a few reasons to get started NOW!

Reason #1-The priority application deadline is 11 days away
Eleven days is plenty of time for you to log onto www.applytexas.org and complete your application for Summer I enrollment. Do not forget to get official copies of your transcripts from any college or university you have attended sent to our admissions office. Also, to ensure that you have the required 30 hours of core curriculum completed, contact Dr.Anthony Edwards at aedwards at tarleton.edu or myself, Heather Hale, at hhale at tarleton.edu

Reason #2-The priority financial aid deadline is 11 days away
Like the application deadline, the financial aid deadline is also April 1st. You can visit http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ to begin your financial aid application. FAFSA stands for "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" and most students are surprised by how much assistance they are eligible for. Tarleton's school code for the FAFSA website is 003631. If you have any other questions or concerns you can contact our Financial Aid Office at 254-968-9070.

Reason #3-The new changes in admission for the College of Business Administration Graduate Programs
If you are wanting to obtain any of our 4 graduate degrees in business (http://www.tarleton.edu/mmas/graduate.html), the admissions requirements just became a bit more appealing. If you have greater than a 3.0 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate work, the GRE/GMAT requirement is waived and you will be granted full admission to COBA graduate programs.
However, if you do not have greater than a 3.0 but have a GPA of at least 2.5,  you must take an entrance exam (GMAT preferred)  before admission and must meet the requirements for admission to the graduate school according to the formula currently in place. (in other words, no conditional admittance).
COBA graduate programs require a minimum 2.5 GPA for admission

Reason #4-You can pursue an online degree at your own pace
If the thought of taking 12 hours of college coursework a semester terrifies you, fear no more. You can be a part-time student taking 6 or 9 hours and move at your own pace. We understand that getting back into the routine of school can take some getting used to, so don't be afraid to ease back in at your own speed.

Reason #5-There is no time like the present
Be honest with yourself, if this is what you want quit making the excuses and go for it! You are never too old or too young, too busy or too preoccupied to make a positive change in your life. We here at Tarleton believe in you, all that's left is for you to believe in yourself.

Consider this final bit of advice:

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
- Mark Twain
