According to Merriam-Webster, that is the definition given for stress,the nagging feeling we all experience at many points of our professional and personal life. For many working adults who are also pursuing a degree, this time of year adds extra stressors to life, such as registering for summer and fall courses, preparing for final exams, TAXES, and making summer plans for your family.
Even though this time of year may cause quite a bit of worry, thankfully the spring brings forth many opportunities to destress and tune out from the pressures of life. Many spring festivals and free outdoor activities are held all across Texas.
Here are a few happening in the DFW area;
- Friday on the Green
- Held the first Friday of April-October (omitting August due to heat) in the Magnolia District of Fort Worth, this free concert series showcases the best local musicians. So bring a blanket or some lawn chairs and sample delicious treats from a variety of local food trucks while listening to awesome jams under the stars.
- Klyde Warren Park
- This beautiful urban park built over Woodall Rodgers Freeway in downtown Dallas offers daily free activities such as live music, yoga, Zumba, amongst many more. Spend a sunny spring Saturday lounging around the Big D!
- Main Street Arts Festival
- This free 4-day celebration of the creative mind is held this week (April 10-13) in downtown Fort Worth. Enjoy live music, performances by dance troupes and check out one of a kind paintings, sculptures and installments in Cowtown.
